Round 4 Declared Non-Counting.
The Victorian State Super Sprint Championship (VSSC) Panel has confirmed that the most recent round has been declared non-counting (N/A) for championship points following the early termination of the event.
The event was formally stopped mid-day by the Clerk of the Course and the Steward after a series of weather-related incidents and significant damage to circuit infrastructure, including a section of guardrail that required extensive repairs.
The decision to stop the event was made on safety grounds, in line with Motorsport Australia procedures and the provisions of NCR 11 – Postponement or Cancellation of a Competition, which allows an event to be cancelled or abandoned for reasons of Force Majeure or safety.
Although every group completed an initial timed run, deteriorating conditions meant competitors received unequal track time and vastly different weather and surface conditions.
After consultation with Motorsport Australia and discussion within the VSSC Panel, it was agreed that the fairest and most practical outcome was to declare the round non-counting.
This ensures the integrity and fairness of the Championship, given that not all competitors had a reasonable opportunity to record comparable results.
Panel Chair John Beck said the decision was not taken lightly.
“It was a tough day for everyone — competitors, officials, and organisers alike. The weather and track damage made it impossible to continue safely, and counting partial results just wouldn’t have been fair to the field. We really appreciate everyone’s understanding and professionalism.”
All existing Championship standings remain unchanged, and no points will be awarded for this round.
Formal annoucment of winners will be out soon.
The VSSC Panel would like to thank all competitors, officials, and event staff for their patience, cooperation, and commitment to safety throughout the day.
